D. Maestro is a gifted composer, arranger, musician and vocalist whose talents would impress even the most critical ear. Maestro's compositional and arranging abilities are evident on his latest recording "Different Stages" and his previous recording on L.A.X. Records. "Changin Times"; an album which enjoyed success in European and Japanese markets.
It was that album that brought Maestro's talents to Stevie Wonder's attention and eventually led to Maestro recording and performing with Stevie.....to quote Stevie Wonder: "A musicians' musician with a truly colourful concept!"
Maestro's musical credits go on to include performing or recording with: Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, Joe Williams, Pete and Coke Escovedo, B.B. King, Peggy Lee, Eric Burdon Dexter Gordon, Willie Bobo, Rasaan-Roland Kirk, Frank Morgan, Freda Payne, Spade Cooley, Art Pepper, Richie Havens, Buck Owens and the Buckaroos, Robben Ford, Big Mamma Thorton, Little Esther Phillips, War, and many more, including the Los Angeles Philharmonic under the direction of Zubin Mehta.
Maestro's ability to play several instruments, forms and styles and play them all well, has won him recognition and praise from fellow recording artists in the U.S.A., Japan, and Europe. Maestro's fans boast of his versitility while staying true to the form.
